My CNC machine

The frame is 6061 aluminum with some really nice THK parts.
This machine uses THK FGS 140 and 200 actuator assemblies for the Z and Y axis.
The X axis uses two THK HSR30H bearing blocks and 33" THK rails

Dust Right Vortex
Dust Right Vortex
I added a particle separator to my dust collection system
The Vortex goes between your dust pickups and your Vacuum
What a huge difference this thing makes
All the larger particles spin in a vortex and drop to the bottom of the bin
Nothing makes it to the Shop VAC filter except some very fine dust particles
I have not have to clean the shop vac filter yet.
My Shop Vac is outside this room so I don't have to listen to it.

The bin is 10 gallons so it holds quite a bit.
I got it at Rockler here

My first CNC machine
I decided to build a wood CNC machine first to iron out all the design elements, see what works and what doesn't.
I am using Red Oak for most of it. It's hard as rock, very stable and I had a bunch of Oak in my shop already.
I didn't want to use plywood or MDF, which is basically glued sawdust.
