I set up a leveling table to try and get the shafts aligned as perfect as is possible when working with a wooden machine.
The Y axis is locked down and then the leveling table is adjusted with shims and screws until the Y shafts are level in both directions.
After the Y shafts were level I adjusted the Z axis shafts until they were level both directions.
The Z shaft bearings were then epoxied into the oak.
I am using bronze bearings on the ends of the shafts even though they don't turn.
I will drill through the Oak, through the bearings and lock down the shafts with screws.

This is the Rotozip tool I will be using in my CNC router
I will probably use threaded studs and wing nuts to lock down the Rotozip.
I'll add a bit of metal reinforcement across the tops of the mounts to distribute the stress of the lockdown wing nuts.

These are the table end blocks The Rotozip tool holder and clamps.
Four wing nuts screw down to clamp the tool tight.

The Z Axis slide has a groove and the tool holder has a tongue.
The two pieces bolt together and the tool holder can be moved up and down about 2 inches.

Update: The first piece my new machine cut was a new Z axis slide assembly.
I wasn't happy with the way the one in the picture above turned out.

The Y Axis slide
I am going to program the router to cut a new Y axis assembly since the new Z assembly came out so nice on the router.
