Lexan Soap holder 2 |

This projects below are Lexan holders to hold soft soap dispensers, shampoo, conditioners, etc. I have a couple of those fiberglass shell showers at
my house. You know, the ones with the skinny little shelves that are molded into the shower shell. Nothing sits on those shelves very well. You can knock over the soap dispenser,
the shampoo bottle a cup of coffee or god forbid, knock over a beer!!!!!! I used the CNC to cut bottle shapes into the Lexan that was just a hair bigger than the dispensers. Then I did a complete profile of the perimeter to dislodge it from the bigger Lexan piece. I had to bend the Lexan at two points at 90 degree angles using heat and a couple pieces of aluminum used as clamps and heat sinks. Machining the Lexan on the CNC was a breeze compared to bending the Lexan. Lexan machines way nicer than Plexiglas or plastics. It's some sort of polycarbonate, it is used as glass replacement and nearly unbreakable. Then a couple holes got drilled to mount it to the shower wall. I drilled and sunk those plastic insert anchors into the fiberglass shower wall then used a couple stainless steel screws to hold the Lexan in place. |
