I use a cool little USB mini keypad to jog around the CNC, to start and stop jobs, emergency stops, etc. It's nice cause it has a real long cord and reaches to the end of the CNC machine.
Above left: I got rid of the full sized keyboard, the mouse and the mouse pad. I only run Mach3 on this computer and I only used a few keys on the keyboard so I did not need a full sized keyboard. It was just in the way and took up too much space. The mouse was always rolling across all kinds of junk that blows off the CNC machine. An optical mouse would work better than a roller mouse.
Above right: I found this cool little mini keyboard and touch mouse combo for $30 on line. The touch mouse pad also acts like the left click button when you tap it gently. It has left and right mouse buttons along the front edge of the keyboard. I don't use the actual mouse buttons much since you can just tap on the touch pad for left mouse. Takes a bit to get used to, but I am really liking it so far. The touch pad can do the mouse roller wheel also. Two taps and you drag your finger to scroll.
