(B.1) Description of sacred river Ganga:

•
Description of river Ganga: After crossing Koshala, Sri Rama bids farewell to motherland Ayodhya telling that he will again see her after his forest exile. Then after travelling for some distance, Sri Rama sees the beautiful river Ganga which is Tripathagama (courses through three paths - Heaven, Earth and Nether-world). The river bank is adorned with auspicious hermitages. The Apsaras, Devas, Danavas, Gandharvas, Kinnaras and Nagas frequent the place. The waves of the river makes the sounds of laughter while clashing with the rocks. The river bank is resonant with sounds of cranes and swans. At some places are white sands and at some places are white lotuses. At some places water lilies are growing. The river bank is surrounded by fruit and flower trees. The river water is spotlessly clear.

When night falls, Sri Rama and Devi Sita lies on the ground on the bank of river Ganga. Guha guards them along with Lakshmana throughout the night.
