Varanasi district: Kashi: An ancient pilgrimage of Lord Shiva on the bank of river Ganga which is a Moksha Puri, Jyotirlinga [Vishwanath Jyotirlinga] (Vishwanath) as well as Shakti Peetha [Varanasi Shakti Peetha] (Devi Vishalakshi); also has famous temples of Devi Annapoorna and Sri Kalabhairava.

Ayodhya district: Ayodhya: The birthplace and kingdom of Sri Rama which is a Moksha Puri and a Divya Desam [Thiru Ayodhi Divya Desam].
