Kameshwar Dham

• Meditation: I meditate on Lord Shiva burning Kamadeva at Anga at the confluence of rivers Ganga and Sarayu and making him Ananga (bodiless); where sages who were disciples of Shiva performed asceticism for thousands of years, and where Sri Rama visited while travelling with sage Vishwamitra.

• Kameshwar Dham is identified with Anga Ashrama mentioned in Valmiki Ramayana - Bala Kanda 23 to 24. The confluence of rivers Ganga and Ghaghara is located in this district. It is the place where Lord Shiva is said to have burnt Kamadeva. There is a temple of Lord Shiva in this place.
