Summary:
Oh mother dEvi, you are the consort of Sankara and I have always seeked refuge. You are decked with fresh and unblemished flower garlands and your well merited eyes resemble flower petals and you dwell by the river bank. You are the daughter of mountain king, and you destroyed demons ChanDa, MunDa. You hold a javelin as a weapon and you have a beautiful form. You decorate the forehead with a red/saffron mark (tilakam), your are foremost in kindness. You care for good people and your feet are beautiful like tender leaves.
You are strong with your arms and with that you destroyed demon Mahisha. You are worshiped by the people whose ego has been burnt up. Your gentle smile defeats the beauty of jasmine flowers, your lips are as red as JapA (hibiscus) flower, you dwell in my heart, your face shines like that of full moon, you are pleasant like a gentle breeze and you are related to the entire universe.
You are the sister of the supreme and pious srI padmanAbha (lord VishNu), you are beautiful with dark tresses and you use tiger as your stead. Please confer you mercy on the the devotees who had miseries in their past. Indra and other demigods worship you and you remove our worst sins.
