Valmiki Ramayana - Aranya Kanda 11: Story of sage Mandakarni and five Apsaras: Sri Rama visited the Pancha Apsara lake during forest exile after visiting Suteekshna ashrama (first visit). From that lake was emanating melodies songs and music. Sri Rama heard from sage Dharmavrita the story of sage Mandakarni marrying five Apsaras and living within that lake. (After this Sri Rama stayed in various hermitages of sages in Dandakaranya and ten years gradually elapsed.).
