Manifestation of Devi Durga

• Meditation: I meditate on Devi Durga who manifested from the combined powers of the Trinity and devas to vanquish Mahishasura.

• Manifestation of Devi Durga: The devas approached the trinity - Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva for protection. Lead by Brahma the devas went to Vishnu and Shiva. Hearing about the pitiable condition of the devas their faces were filled with angry frowns. From their angry faces issued Mahat-Tejas (Light of great power) which united together (to form a great mass of Light). From the bodies of the devas also issued Light of power which all combined together to form a great Light which blazed like mountain. From that great Light of power manifested the Devi whose lustre pervaded the three worlds. The devas were filled with joy to see Her and adorned her with various weapons.
