Mahad - Varad Vinayak

• Meditation: I meditate on Sri Varad Vinayak blessing sage Grutsamad when the sage meditated on Him and underwent a long penance.

• Varad Vinayak: Mahad Varad Vinayak is one of the Ashta Vinayaka temples. The legends of Sri Ganesha are mentioned in Ganesha Purana and Mudgala Purana.

• Sri Ganesha blessing sage Grutsamad: According to legend, Sri Ganesha blessed sage Grutsamad (who is said to be the founder of Ganapatya cult), when the sage meditated on Him and underwent a long penance. Sri Ganesha permanently stayed in that place (where sage Grutsamad performed penance) as Sri Varada Vinayaka.

• Varad Vinayak temple is located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra.
