- Ganga Dussehra (Jyaistha Shukla Paksha Dasami)
Ganga Saptami:
Ganga Saptami or Jahnu Saptami is the day in which the release of
river Ganga by Jahnu Muni is celebrated. Jahnu Muni drank the river Ganga when she inundated his sacrificial arena. Later on the Muni released the river from his right ear. Ganga therefore came to be known as Jahnavi, or the daughter of Jahnu Muni. Ganga Saptami falls on
Vaishakha Shukla Paksha Saptami.
