Several graphics libraries are available covering a range of needs
from the beginner to the programmer developing a large interactive teaching
package. We recommend that the libraries should be used as follows:
- vogle
- : the first option to consider for C/C++/fortran
programmers needing graphics. Source code is available for many
machine types.
- X/Motif/Athena
- : for experienced C/C++ programmers needing
low-level features.
- Tcl/Tk
- : Front ends.
- gtk and Qt
- : Front ends.
- Matlab
- : Front ends and sophisticated visualisation.
