Description

Rechts op de voorgrond staat Johannes, met een beker in de hand. Deze apostel stierf een natuurlijke dood, maar doorstond wel enige martelingen. Die zijn achter hem te zien: uiterst linksboven staat hij in ene pan kokende olie, op het middenplan is te zien hoe hij een beker gif leegdrinkt. Onder de voorstelling tweemaal twee regels Latijn. Deze prent is onderdeel van een serie van 13 prenten van Christus (ongenummerd) en de apostelen (genummerd), meer specifiek van de martelingen die ze hebben ondergaan.
