Explanatory note

Het woord 'auth' rechtsonder op de prent verwijst, volgens C. J. de Bruyn Kops in het Bulletin van het Rijksmuseum, naar een techniek (autographie) waarbij op glad papier werd getekend. Deze tekening werd vervolgens op de steen overgebracht. Tot slot werd hiermee gedrukt. Dit had het effect dat de afbeelding niet in spiegelbeeld werd afgedrukt en de tekenaar dus ook niet in spiegelbeeld hoefde te werken.
