I understand very well that it is not some academic course, but rather a pleasant walk around some great books and some great ideas of our philosophical tradition. I enjoyed this one because everytime I was thinking that it was weak or out of the point, he would say something like “this lecture is not going very well, let’s start over”. In the end it is funny and smart.

I’m not a fan of Sartre, I can’t get rid of the feeling that his work (from a literary point of view) and his life (from a revolutionary one) is just a deceiptive play. But I recommend the reading of The words because it’s a firsthand account of how easily we can get carry away by the pleasure of listening to ourself.
