Sri Rama staying at Chitrakoota
(Ref: Valmiki Ramayana - Ayodhya Kanda - 56, 94 to 95)

•
Meditation: I meditate on
Sri Rama staying at
Chitrakoota on the bank of river
Mandakini and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings.
•
Events:
1. Sri Rama building a parna-shala at Chitrakoota: After reaching Chitrakoota according to the directions given by sage Bharadwaja, Sri Rama becomes charmed by the beauty of Chitrakoota. He tells Lakshmana to build a parna shala (leaf hut) in that place. After the hut was constructed, Sri Rama performs the ceremony of purification by reciting sacred hymns. Then he settles down joyfully at that beautiful place
(Valmiki Ramayana - Ayodhya Kanda - 56).
2. Sri Rama describing the beauty of Chitrakoota: While staying in Chitrakoota, Sri Rama one day describes the beauty of Chitrakoota mountain to Devi Sita
(Valmiki Ramayana - Ayodhya Kanda - 94).
3. Sri Rama describing the beauty of river Mandakini: While staying in Chitrakoota, Sri Rama one day describes the beauty of river Mandakini to Devi Sita
(Valmiki Ramayana - Ayodhya Kanda - 95).
