Kedarnatha Jyotirlinga
(Ref: Shiva Purana - Koti Rudra Samhita - 19)

•
Meditation: I meditate on the
Kedarnatha Jyotirlinga at Badaryashrama where Nara and Narayana, the incarnations of Hari, performed penance; and where Lord Shiva appeared before them and granted the boon to abide there for their worship.
•
Nara and Narayana worshipping Lord Shiva: Nara and Narayana, two incarnations of Hari, perform tapas in Bharata Khanda at
Badaryashrama. They worship Lord Shiva in a Parthiva Linga. Shiva used to come there daily since he is subservient to his devotees.
•
Lord Shiva giving boon to Nara and Narayana: They continue to worship Shiva for a long time. Shiva becomes pleased and one day appear before them and tell them to ask for a boon. They request Lord Shiva to abide there so that they can worship him. Lord Shiva abides there in that snow-clad Kedara mountains in the form of a Jyotirlinga. This Linga worshipped by Nara and Narayana removes all sorrows and sins. Lord Shiva fulfils the wishes of the devotees there. One who sees this Jyotirlinga in the Badari forest becomes free from all sins and finally becomes liberated.
