Pilgrimages of Uttarakhand

  1. Haridwar district: Haridwar: Ancient Mayapuri which is a Moksha Puri and a place of Kumbha Mela.
  2. Tehri Garhwal district: Dev Prayag (690 m): One of the Pancha Prayag of Uttarakhand located at the confluence of rivers Alakananda and Bhagirathi which is also a Divya Desam [Thirukkandam Divya Desam].
  3. Rudra Prayag district: Rudra Prayag (610 m): One of the Pancha Prayag of Uttarakhand located at the confluence of rivers Alakananda and Mandakini.
  4. Rudra Prayag district: Kedarnath (3581 m): An ancient pilgrimage of Lord Shiva which is a Jyotirlinga [Kedarnath Jyotirlinga].
  5. Chamoli district: Karna Prayag (788 m): One of the Pancha Prayag of Uttarakhand located at the confluence of rivers Alakananda and Pindari.
  6. Chamoli district: Nanda Prayag (914 m): One of the Pancha Prayag of Uttarakhand located at the confluence of rivers Alakananda and Nandakini.
  7. Chamoli district: Vishnu Prayag (1372 m): One of the Pancha Prayag of Uttarakhand located at the confluence of rivers Alakananda and Dhauli Ganga.
  8. Chamoli district: Joshimath: A Divya Desam [Thiruppirudhi Divya Desam], gateway to Badrinath and has a Math of Sri Adi Shankaracharya.
  9. Chamoli district: Badrinath: An ancient pilgrimage of Lord Vishnu known as Badarikashrama which is a Swayam Vyakta Kshetra, Divya Desam [Thiruvadhari Ashramam Divya Desam], All India Char Dham and Uttarakhand Char Dham.
  10. Uttarkashi district: Gangotri (3140 m): The source of river Ganga with a temple of Devi Ganga which is an Uttarakhand Char Dham.
  11. Uttarkashi district: Yamunotri (3292 m): The source of river Yamuna with a temple of Devi Yamuna which is an Uttarakhand Char Dham.
  12. Almora district: Jageshwar (1870 m): A famous pilgrimage of Lord Shiva which is identified with a Jyotirlinga [Nageshwar Jyotirlinga].
