Thiruparameswara Vinnagaram Divya Desam - Vaikunthanatha Perumal

•
Meditation: I meditate on
Sri Vaikunthanathan at
Thiruparameswara Vinnagaram who appeared before Pallavan and Villavan (the incarnation of his dwarapalakas) when they performed a yagna worshipping the Lord.
•
Thiruparameswara Vinnagaram Divya Kshetra: Thiruparameswara Vinnagaram is a
Divya Desam whose glory was sung by Thirumangai Alvar. The Lord here is known as
Vaikunthanathan which literally means the Lord of Vaikuntha. According to legend, the Lord appeared before
Pallavan and
Villavan (the incarnation of his dwarapalakas) when they performed a yagna worshipping him.
•
Lord appearing before Pallavan and Villavan: King
Virosana of Vidarbha had no sons who could be the heir of his kingdom. So the king prayed to Lord
Kailashanatha of
Kanchipuram worshipping him. By the divine grace the dwarapalakas of Lord Vishnu,
Pallavan and
Villavan, were born as his sons. Pallavan and Villavan performed a yagna worshipping the Lord. The Lord appeared before them in this place and gave them darshan.
•
Image: The image of Lord Vishnu here is in sitting posture facing west.
• Thiruparameswara Vinnagaram is located in Kanchipuram in the
Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu.
