Worship of Lord Shiva by Sri Rama: It is the place on the sea shore where Sri Rama worshipped Lord Shiva before crossing the ocean to gain victory over Ravana. Lord Shiva appeared before Sri Rama and granted the boon of victory. On the request of Sri Rama Lord Shiva abided there as the Rameshwar Jyotirlinga.
