I am a senior student of Guru. Vyjayanthi Kashi and have been learn­ing the nuances of Kuchi­pudi under her tute­lage since 1996. Info: Born in a trad­itional South Indian family with a rich cultural heritage, I was initiated into music at a very young age and started my musical career under the tute­lage of her mother Smt. Susila Seetharaman, a senior Carnatic vocal­ist. I was fortun­ate to receive train­ing from Tiger Varadacharya’s fore­most disciple, Shri Chalapuram Papa and later with Shri. Mathur P. Balasubramaniam. Am cur­rently pur­suing her music under the expert tute­lage of Shri T.V. Gopalakrishnan, an exemplary musician and a renowned music­ologist. I have per­formed exten­sively in India and abroad. And I have given live con­certs and also featured in South Indian premier tele­vision channels. I launched my first Carnatic album ‘Carnatic Delights’ in March 2006. Besides my musical pursuits, she is also an accomplished Bharat­natyam dancer, trained in the Vazhuvoor style.-She has been conferred Natya Bhooshan in 1983 by Bharatnatyala and Trichy Fine arts. Her desire to propagate the rich South Indian art forms globally, led her to start Shruthi UK, a non -profit organi­sation, now based in Staffordshire-dedicated to music and dance. She con­ducts work­shops and interactive ses­sions with children and also with the com­munity to create an aware­ness and interest in our rich Indian trad­ition. An MBA in Marketing and Finance and Human resources, Chithra holds a doctorate in Management. She has also made her debut as a playback singer in South Indian movies.
