She started learning music from her mother Mrs. Bijoya Deb and later she learnt Indian classical music from Pandit Amiya Ranjan Bandyopadhyay. She also got her training from Smt. Haimanti Shukla, Smt. Purabi Dutta, late Shri Sukumar Mitra, late Shri Biman Mukherjee in various genres of music such as Bengali modern/ Adhunik songs, Nazrulgeeti, semi-classical songs (Bengali songs based on ragas, Hindi bhajans, ghazals etc.). She has performed in India, United States and Canada including in all the renowned socio-cultural organizations of the Bengali community in GTA area. She also performed for “Bangladesh television Canada”. She also obtained “Sangeet Prabhakar” title in recognition of her formal training in Indian classical music. She teaches vocal music to all age group, also takes Skype classes.
