Khemta tala is a six matra tala which some musicians believe is an off-spring of dadra tala. The format is exactly the same as dadra tala, with the exception of baya usage. This tala has found a special place in Gujarati music as the “garba rasa tala” as this is used in Garba music. It is very rarely used in the semi-classical music scene. Only place it might be found in is probably in folk songs, kirtans, dhuns, and bhajans.
