Lesson 20: Example 3

Play four cycles of kahervā tāla thekā, with the last cycle incorporating Mukhra 1.

Play bhajani tāla for four cycles with the second cycle having Mukhra 2 inserted (“the pickup mukhra”)

STEP 1: Four cycles of bhajani tāla:

STEP 2: Recall Mukhra 2 from Lesson 18

Playing “ti” for “te” is acceptable, per Lesson 18.

STEP 3: Mukhra 2 has 4 beats. Bhajani tāla has 8 beats. Therefore, the last four beats of bhajani tala in the second cycle will be replaced with the bols of Mukhra 2.
