Jala Taranga
The jala taranga (“waves of water”)
is a xylophone-like instrument where there are many cups of water filled with
different volumes. Each cup of water will produce a different note when struck.
The musician will use a stick to strike appropriate cups to produce melodies.
It is commonly used in medieval Indian classical music.
