Garba Jhanjha
Garba jhanjha, also known as whompers,
are large sized cymbals used for heavy orchestrated music. Unlike the kartals and manjira that are
known for their finer accompaniment, the garba jhanjha are usually only used to mark major points of a
rhythmic cycle. Due to their loud, unrefined sound, they are not very good for
fast or finer accompaniment. Since they are a bigger diameter, they are very
low pitched.
