Belabahar
The belabahar is a relatively new instrument created by Pandit Babulal Gandharva. It is a fusion of the sarangi
and violin. While this doesn’t have frets, there is a finger board, which
allows one to play using violin technique. The resonating chamber is made of
wood, with goatskin as its soundboard, thus resembling the human sound that the
sarangi has. There are five playing strings and many
sympathetic strings.
