Chapter 28: Song Practice (XIII)
The last song of our study should be the most ecstatic
song. Originally written for his Nama Hatta programs, Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s “Boro Sukher Khabor Gai”
is a very simple song, musically. Only challenge is the spacing of some words,
as well as sustains on some of the syllables towards the end of the asthayi. There is only an asthayi
that repeats every verse.
