LED Operating Voltage - Example = 3.6

LED Operating Current in milliamps - Example = 20

In the Example above 12 volts - 3.6 volts = 8.4 volts to be dropped across the current limiter resistor 8.4 volts / 20 milliamps (.02) = 420 ohms
