Doug and Bob dial in Dickey's amps.

Actually Dickey's heads are box stock inside.
When he first brought them to me, they were pretty butchered up inside.
Several techs had modded them and done some silly things to them .
I set about putting them back to stock and "bullet proofing" them so Dickey could take them back on the road again.
He had been using a couple Soldano's when I first met him.
He asked me to go through his old heads so he could start using them again.
He was also using a PRS guitar at the time and had just switched to the Gibson 335.
The two amps on the right are "Fan hole" and "Q", the only two original heads from the old days.
He had purchased a new re-issue head and the top head is a pc board re-issue that they let guests play on.
Two of the heads are 1973's that I bought for him at the Dallas guitar show and went through also.
They are all hand wired early seventies except for the one pc board re-issue.

Tom Dowd - Dickey Betts
I am sitting at home one evening watching the Tom Dowd video called the Language of Music.
At some point I see Dickey and over his shoulder is the 100 watt purple head I made for him.
There is also a Randall amp below that I had made.

Hoffman 100 watt Purple head
I made this amp for Dickey when Randall was wanting to make amps.
They asked me to make one for Dickey to try out.
This amp ended up on stage as a guest amp at Allman Brothers concerts.
I remember seeing Derek Trucks playing it at one concert.
It is actually a 100 watt head but I only had a 50 watt Face Plate so I used it.
I think I had 6550's in the amp at the time to keep it very clean.
It may have had EL34's, I can't remember.
After Dickey was removed from the Allman Brothers, Bert the tour manager called me.
He said he had one of my amps on the truck and wanted to send it back to me.
So it sits in my shop currently with all the other tube amps.
