MUSICIANS' CRICKET MATCH |

Now that the hectic music season is over, what next? Well, it is time for fun and relaxation. It was with this idea that a few cricket-crazy musicians started the musicians' cricket match a few years ago and it has definitely caught the fancy of not only the musicians community but also the music loving public. Initially only a few young musicians were participating in this, but over the last few years, several middle-aged musicians have also joined the band with interest and enthusiasm. The Youth Association for Classical Music (YACM) will host it this year. The match comprising 4 teams will be held on 6th January 2002 at the YMCA School Hockey Grounds, Nandanam, from 7.30 am onwards. The event is open to the public. Besides, there are loads of prizes to be won! Guess the winning team and mail your choice to [email protected]. The teams are as follows: Team 1: Ravikiran (Captain), Trivandrum Balaji, Mannargudi Easwaran, Palghat Ramprasad, Sundarkumar, Saketaraman, C K S Venkatramanan, B Sivaraman, Raghavendra Rao, Tabla Ganesh, Ashok Ramani & Palghat Sriram. Team 2: T M Krishna (Captain), E Krishnaprakash, Guruprasad, Melakkaveri Balaji, S Varadarajan, Umayalpuram Kalyanaraman, B U Ganesh Prasad, Raja Subramaniam, Vijay Siva, G S Krishna & Janardhanan Team 3: V V S Murari (Captain), R Kumaresh, B S Purushotaman, Sowrirajan, Gurucharan, S Chandrasekhar, R Sankaranarayanan, Seturaman, Nagai Narayanan, Salem Ranganathan & C A Rajasekhar. Team 4: Poongulam Subramanian (Captain), S Karthick, B Ganapatiraman, K V Gopalakrishnan, Satish Kumar, G S Ganesh, Nagai Sriram, T N S Krishna, Vijayendran, Prasanna Karthikeyan & V K Manimaran. One question though: What are the women musicians doing?! |
