Sequences are used to be sent to generators to source varying and repetitive signals. This applies only for arbitrary waveform generators with a sequence option installed. Example of a sequence of five waveforms: W_3 + W_2 + W_2 + W_1 + W_7 1 x Waveform 7 1 x Waveform 1 2 x Waveform 2 1 x Waveform 3 Until a sequence file is opened or created, the sequence list box is blank. It consists of three columns: Waveform Names of the waveforms in the sequence. Repeat Count Number of times that the waveform is repeated in the sequence. File MS-DOS file path of the waveform file. To get information about the screen parts of the Sequence tool, choose @2,"Overview of Screen Parts". Position the scroll bar at the waveform in front of which you want to insert the other waveform. 2. Select the menu option or double click on the bar in the list. To change waveform attributes in the sequence list box: 1. Position the scroll bar at the waveform concerned. 2. Select the menu option. To cut, copy, or paste a waveform from or into the sequence: 1. Position the scroll bar at the waveform concerned. 2. Select the menu option. To send a sequence of waveforms to an Arbitrary Waveform Generator that has a sequence option installed, select the menu option. IndexThe Help Index provides an alphabetical list of all topics. A sequence of arbitrary waveforms only applies for Arbitrary Waveform Generators that have a sequence option installed. 1. Select the menu. 2. Select the option. Create a sequence of waveforms: 3. Select the menu. 4. Select the option to add waveforms to the empty list. 5. Activate the button. Select waveform: 6. Select a waveform from the list box. 7. Activate the button to add the waveform. 8. Enter, e.g., 2 into the box to repeat the waveform twice in the sequence. 9. Activate the button to add the waveform to the sequence list. 10. Position the scroll bar after the last waveform line. Add arbitrary waveform: 11. Select the menu. 12. Select the option to add another waveform. 13. Activate the button to select a file. As a result, the @820,"Select File" dialog box pops up. - Enter a waveform name into the first box and, if applicable, a waveform index into the second box. Tip: Activate the button to select a waveform from an ARB memory of an Arbitrary Waveform Generator. As a result, the @840,"Select Arb Memory" dialog box pops up. - Enter the number of times that the waveform is repeated in the sequence into the box. - Activate the button to enter or change the waveform in the sequence list. - Activate the button to cancel and return to the previous situation. Select Arb Memory Dialog BoxwAllows you to select an arbitrary waveform memory: - Select an Arb memory from the box or enter an Arb memory number into the box. Note: The PM5150 has 0 through 99 ARB memories. - Activate the button to select the waveform from the Arb memory selected. - Activate the button to cancel and return to the previous situation. Waveform ListKLists the names of the waveforms in the sequence in order of appearence. Repeat Count ListXLists the number of times that a waveform is repeated (Repeat Count) in the sequence. File List?Lists the MS-DOS path of the File that contains the waveform. Sequence List BoxShows the concatenated waveforms in the sequence from top to bottom, including @901,"Waveform" name, @902,"Repeat Count", and @903,"File" path. Waveform View GraphShows the the selected waveform in the sequence graphically. Limitation: If the selected waveform was received from one of the memories of an Arbitrary Waveform Generator, the graph stays empty. Waveform Dimension BoxShows the dimensions of the selected waveform in the sequence: . Y Scale : Vertical scale (units per division). . Y At 50%: Vertical position from 50% axis (middle of graph) is zero reference (= vertical offset). . Y Resol.: Vertical resolution (points per division). . X Scale : Horizontal scale (s per division). Note: ms/s/ns = milli/micro/nano seconds. . X At 0% : Horizontal position from 0% axis (left side of graph) is zero reference (= horizontal delay). . X Resol.: Horizontal resolution (points per division). . X Size : Shown [Total] number of waveform samples. . Time : The moment (hours:minutes:seconds) that the waveform was acquired. . Date : The date (month-day-year) that the waveform was acquired. Note: The Date format depends on the COUNTRY.SYS definition in CONFIG.SYS. Waveform Description BoxBShows the description of the selected waveform in the sequence.
