The two ZIP files in this folder are for installing the last released version of firmware into LeCroy 9300 series scopes that have the CPU3 with FLASH firmware. Please read the firmware updating instructions document also in this folder. NOTE: YOUR FLASH SCOPE MUST HAVE FIRMWARE >= 7.3.0 FOR THE FLOPPY UPDATE METHOD TO WORK! IF YOUR VERSION IS LOWER THAN 7.3.0 try GPIB. USING AN SRAM CARS IS ALWAYS KNOWN TO WORK. SEE THE DOCUMENT IN THIS FILE SECTION FOR DETAILS. The sections that explain how to install the firmware using floppies, the SRAM card and LeCroy ScopeExplorer has been verified to be correct. NOTE: There is a special 2MB (when unzipped) scope bootable binary image of version 8.2.2 firmware (Filename:93xx_v8.22_SRAM_CARD_USE_ONLY.ZIP) that is designed to be written to a 2MB SRAM card for restoring the firmware to a 93XX scope. This image is provided in the hopes that some group member has the ability to write a program that can use a laptop or desktop's PCMCIA (PCCARD) slot to write this binary data to a 2MB card. Otherwise one must use a good scope to write it's firmware to the card. The instructions were updated in November 2012 to reflect the following: 1. RS-232 is NOT supported by LeCroy ScopeExplorer for firmware updates. 2. Only National Instruments GPIB cards or USB interfaces can be used for firmware update per LeCroy. If you have another GPIB interface card or USB interface and have had success doing a flash update please let the group know. 3. Option GALS are now available for purchase at a very nominal cost to enable all GAL enabled options on 93XX series scopes. See the files section for instructions on how to place your order. 4.Updated the information regarding the use of the floppy update method. Thank you and have fun, Sam Moderator FILE UPDATED: 11/16/2012
