Some are problems encountered on test, others are considered to be potential issues. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CD Set-up information: Window 95 and NT; Insert RAVE Technical Bulletins CD into your PC CD-ROM drive, Autorun should begin to operate. If viewing a RAVE CD for the first time, a setup message will appear. Follow instructions on screen until setup is complete, re-start Windows when done. Setup will install the necessary Rave and Acrobat support files including a RAVE icon. Once setup has been performed, the next time any current RAVE CD is inserted, the program should load immediately. Windows 3.1; Insert RAVE Technical Bulletins CD into your PC CD-ROM drive. If viewing a RAVE CD for the first time, a setup operation is required. From the CD drive in File Manager, double click setup.exe e.g. D:\setup.exe. Follow instructions on screen until setup is complete, re-start Windows when done. Setup will install the necessary Rave and Acrobat support files including a RAVE Windows group and icon. Once setup has been performed, the next time any current RAVE CD is inserted and RAVE icon double clicked, the program should load immediately. Autorun; Windows 3.1....No 'Autorun' is available on Windows 3.1 Windows 95....If 'Autorun' will not operate on a Windows 95 PC it may have been turned off. Look for 'Auto Insert' in 'Control panel' 'System' 'Properties', ensure box is checked. Windows NT....'Autorun' is permanent on Windows NT. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Word Search Inoperative: When attempting to run Word Search, the search engine prompt does not appear and the index window does not open. If search has been working correctly previous to now but has now stopped the fault is likely to be PC memory low. Close any unwanted applications and try again, if still a problem, close program and windows to release memory then re-open. if fault continues, your PC may require more memory, (16 MB RAM minimum is recommended). Consult your PC support engineer, PC agent or PC manual for guidance. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Poor Picture Quality: Colour screens or photos appear poor quality / definition. Consult your PC support engineer, PC agent or PC manual for guidance. It is likely your screen settings require changing. Never use display settings in basic VGA mode. Your PC should have a SVGA graphics adapter capable of 800 X 600 resolution 256 colours. If your screen display settings allow, try setting it to this and re-start windows. Colour screens open slowly. a) PC memory is low or inadequate. b) A higher than required screen display setting has been used which may be slowing the program down. Consult your PC support engineer, PC agent or PC manual for guidance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Printing Errors: a) When bulletins are printed, miscellaneous fonts or section lines will not print. Close any unwanted applications and try again, if still a problem, close program and windows to release memory then re-open. b) Photos will not print clearly. Consult the printer handbook. Printer set-up may have a setting lower than 300 dpi. Some printers may not have the capabilities of re-producing the same quality of print which you receive on paper copies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- File Closing Errors: When bulletins or control screens are closed the entire program closes. Click File from the Acrobat title bar, then Preferences then General.
