The Burning of the Bulls |

 We
were so caught up in the activities taking place before us
that we hadn't noticed what was going on behind us. We turned
around to see that the bull up on the highest platform was
already burning.

 Firewood
underneath the bull had been set on fire, and the flames were
already devouring the underside of the bull. From time to time
an attendant would poke the flames to make sure everything was
burning properly.
