cf^2 Mission Statement

The Cloud Factory is a collective of friends and family based in the Santa Cruz/Monterey bay area. We throw cheap free parties, mostly outdoors. We have a loose set of goals and principles which are basically common amongst members and help guide the direction of our events/actions. We encourage everyone at our parties to uphold certain ideals that reflect Peace, Love, Unity and Respect (PLUR). Through our parties and our creative and innovative information distribution we are hoping to help evolve the entities once (and sometimes now) known as 'raves'. Through the World Wide Web and hand distributed fliers we are trying to spread the message of love and peace that we have come to find through ritualistic dancing (and trancing).

Our parties are generally smaller and more underground than a lot of parties going on these days and we try to encourage a strong sense of unity among those at our parties and among our community as a whole. We try to work as a collective, making decisions by consensus when needed and generally listening to everyone in the group, making sure to support and follow through on their ideas.

One of the main goals of the collective aside from partying, having fun, and celebrating life is the study and implementation of a way to get people like us and generally younger people to become active in the environment they live in live in, becoming conscious and aware in a loving and peaceful mindset. We are exploring the possibilities of the World Wide Web right now and will eventually try to incorporate more interactive pages to make it *easy* for people to become aware and act. We also will be continuing to make hand size fliers with slogans and information tidbits to hand out at parties and to the public in general.

If you would like to become actively involved in the collective just send me email telling me about what you would like to do and we'll incorporate whatever ideas/desires you have into the collective.
